Review | Daylighters (The Morganville Vampires, Book 15) by Rachel Caine

Blurb

While Morganville, Texas, is often a troubled town, Claire Danvers and her friends are looking forward to coming home. But the Morganville they return to isn’t the one they know; it’s become a different place—a deadly one…

Something drastic has happened in Morganville while Claire and her friends were away. The town looks cleaner and happier than they’ve ever seen it before, but when their incoming group is arrested and separated—vampires from humans—they realize that the changes definitely aren’t for the better.

It seems that an organization called the Daylight Foundation has offered the population of Morganville something they’ve never had: hope of a vampire-free future. And while it sounds like salvation—even for the vampires themselves—the truth is far more sinister and deadly.

Now, Claire, Shane and Eve need to find a way to break their friends out of Daylighter custody, before the vampires of Morganville meet their untimely end…

 Review

Rachel Caine has had me wrapped around her little pinky finger for the past year devouring her books one by one in the Morganville Vampire Series...  While there is no other series remotely close to meeting the expectations Rachel has built in this incredible series, her characters have the bond we all look for in a book/series, her plots get better and better with each book released and her style has never deviated from the story line.  The covers of her novels in this series are clearly amazing.  The wait of what is to happen next keeps your interest without the driven insane factor.  The wait between books published is not extensive and it makes for a wonderful series and writer.

Incapable of keeping her thoughts to herself Claire is in the midst of coming unglued when returning to Morganville and finding the chaos of what the Daylighter's Foundation has put in place while her and her friends have away.  There is never a dull moment in Morganville as it is but when changes have taken place the human and vampire residents must come together to take back what has been stolen.  The shear will power of the human residents and the strength of the vampires must stand together and stand strong.  Claire and her friends have to come up with a plan to save their town.  Will it be enough?  Or will they be too late?
