Review | Bitter Blood (The Morganville Vampires, Book 13) by Rachel Caine

Blurb

For years, the human and vampire residents of Morganville, Texas, have managed to co-exist in peace. But now that the threat to the vampires has been defeated, the human residents are learning that the gravest danger they face is the enemy within…

Thanks to the eradication of the parasitic creatures known as the draug, the vampires of Morganville have been freed of their usual constraints. With the vampires indulging their every whim, the town’s human population is determined to hold on to their lives by taking up arms. But college student Claire Danvers isn’t about to take sides, considering she has ties to both the humans and the vampires.

To make matters worse, a television show comes to Morganville looking for ghosts, just as vampire and human politics collide. Now, Claire and her friends have to figure out how to keep the peace without ending up on the nightly news… or worse.

 Review

Oh wow, I'm this close to the last of the books out and oh my, there is just so much one can take of a suspenseful series like this!  Rachel Caine has gone and done it again!  I just loved this book!  The character bonding and relationships are just amazing!  The twists and turns around every corner and the mystery of what is to come!  I cannot wait to read the next book, it is on my "I WANT IT NOW LIST!"  I cannot help it, this series has not died at all.

Claire cracks me up with her thoughts and her emotional roller coaster ride with Shane but then what girl does not go on a ride with any guy.  Michael and Eve's relationship has stepped up to the next level and it just makes me want to go "OH MY GOSH!"  The draug are finally taken care of with the help of a few amazing friends and the vampire leaders in the town of Morganville.  Claire and her friends are now up against yet another threat which could ultimately be worse than the draug.

You gotta understand Morganville is a secretive place, no one born and raised there leaves.  Come to town and leaving is not an option.  Not unless Myrlin uses his skills but will the cost of his skills come at a price?  When Claire and her friends notice a new television show they must find a way to find it's source before the vampire leaders do.  The cost of what is being broadcast could very well destroy Morganville and the risk to the current residents would be worse.

The things that have occurred in this series is just over the top!  I will happily recommend this series to anyone with an addiction to YA and Vampires, with fun, mystery, bonded characters, and just everything one could ask for in a long series!  Will Claire and her friends be too late to save the town of Morganville?  Or will the town secret be revealed to the whole world!
