Review | Fade Out (The Morganville Vampires, Book 7) by Rachel Caine

Blurb

Without the evil vampire Bishop ruling over the town of Morganville, the resident vampires have made major concessions to the human population. With their newfound freedoms, Claire Danvers and her friends are almost starting to feel comfortable again…

Now Claire can actually concentrate on her studies, and her friend Eve joins the local theatre company. But when one of Eve’s castmates goes missing after starting work on a short documentary, Eve suspects the worst. Claire and Eve soon realize that this film project, whose subject is the vampires themselves, is a whole lot bigger—and way more dangerous—than anyone suspected.

 Review

At the first turn of the pages, nothing will stop you from finishing this book within hours of starting it.  I thought that one couldn't pull yet another plot out of a hat for the 7th book in a series, yet Rachel Caine has done it again!  I was completely shocked by the unique plot of this book! Such a new touch to the series that I couldn't put the book down.  I now consider myself  an addict to The Morganville Vampires series! I do believe I will follow this series to the end and back again!

Eve has been offered a spotlight role in the annual Morganville production.  She is ecstatic and thrilled beyond words to receive the role as she has auditioned a number of times over the years.  All seems to be right in the town until one of Eve's new found friends goes missing.  The town will not allow the world to know their secrets and when a documentary one of Eve's classmates is working on has the potential of airing live outside of Morganville...  It has Eve and Claire's friends scared of what is to come.

Nothing outside of a miracle and Claire's mentor Myrnin can keep both people out of Morganville and the citizens of the town inside the limits.  The safety of Morganville and all who live within depends on both Myrnin, Claire and Ada (Myrnin's ultimate invention).  To keep the towns secrets it takes Ada, a machine of wonders and much more.  Claire keeps trying to get Myrnin to upgrade his tactics and work on a smaller scale.  It all seems useless when she tries to explain a number of times - computers can be so much smaller than the scale that Myrnin works with.
