REVIEW

There's something about this series that keeps nagging at me during a select few of the installments.  This installment of the series is one of them.  When the authors build you up to expect greatness within the pages only to find the story linger slowly, one can only assume that the next installment will pick up where this one lets you down.

While everything about Zoey makes me want to praise her for her choices, in this installment I want to do nothing more than wring her pretty little neck.  I just thought she had grown out of the teenage drama and boy issues.  This installment takes me back to the beginning when making a decision for Zoey was too hard and she kept going back on what she wanted.

Aphrodite tries to succeed in being the Prophetess she is meant to be when the decision to keep things from her High Priestess doesn't come without consequence.  Is it her fault that the vision she sees is so difficult to interpret much less retell?

There's nothing stopping Stark from being the jealous boyfriend he is when Aurox's true colors are proven.  Zoey will always love her ex-boyfriend, lover and consort; though his passing in an untimely death doesn't erase such love.  Stark feels betrayed, yet his only action to keep his High Priestess happy is to act like a donkey.  (Insert J_ _ _ A _ _ here).  Possessive and very aggressive with Zoey in front of Aurox.

I enjoyed this book but also felt that it needed some excitement.  Something besides the crazy cliff hanger at the end.  Anything could have been better than the climax of Aphrodite betraying Zoey.  I'm determined to finally finish this series.  Next up Kalona's Fall - I cannot wait to dig into his story and past...
