I simply loved this book! I turned the pages faster than I ever though I could read. The story was amazing, the characters unbelievable and the fantasy world well written.

Zoey Redbird is your average teenage girl in school until the day she is 'Marked' as a fledgling vampyre. Her world changes as she enters the House of Night, a school where only those that complete the change will survive. Never quite fitting into the world of humans, Zoey's being 'Marked' has made a huge impact on her life. A descendant of the Cherokee, her grandmother loves her unconditionally and supports Zoey when her mother and father reject her and her new found school.

Upon entering the House of Night Zoey finds that even there she has trouble fitting in. The other students do not understand, she's 'Marked' by none only than the Goddess Nyx herself. The most powerful Goddess there has ever been, showing others she is destined for power herself.

When trouble among the vampyres' erupt in the House of Night, Zoey finds herself in the middle of it all. When all she wants is a life friendship, trust and love there's no one that can stop what is happening within the walls of the school. Will Zoey be able to get to the bottom of the problem before it escalates into something worse? Or will the mistrust and betrayal get the best of her?

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
P.C. Cast was born in Watseka, Illinois, and grew up being shuttled back-and-forth between Illinois and Oklahoma, which is where she fell in love with Quarter Horses and mythology (at about the same time). After high school she joined the United States Air Force and began public speaking and writing. Since her tour in the USAF, she has been speaking and teaching professionally.

Ms. Cast is an award winning fantasy and paranormal romance author. Her novels have been awarded the prestigious: Prism, Holt Medallion, Daphne du Maurier, Booksellers' Best, and the Laurel Wreath.

Ms. Cast writes the popular Goddess Summoning Series for Berkley Publishing. The forth book in the series, GODDESS OF THE ROSE, A Retelling of Beauty and the Beast, is a Feburary 2006 release.
