“Untie me and I’ll trust you.” I nodded, unblinking.
“Can I get a kiss as well?” His eyes sparkled as his lips came dangerously close to mine.
“What?” I closed my eyes and waited to feel his lips on mine.
“Open your eyes, Bianca.” He whispered against my lips. I could feel his breath gliding over my skin as I opened my eyes slowly. I swallowed hard as I stared up at him.
All Bianca can think of is that whoever had her kidnapped knew she was investigating her mother's car "accident" and her father's loss of royalties on his inventions. There is a company that appears to be involved or at least is the reason for the loss of royalties. She would ask her Dad for more information, but he has passed away leaving her a letter that alerts her to his suspicions but does not give enough details.
The hottie, Jakob, is none other that the same man who asked permission to seat at her table at a coffee shop a couple of days before. What is the connection? Why was he kidnapped also?
The solitude of the island, their dire need for water and food, and the immense attraction that builds between them is enough to keep you at the edge of your seats. Add to that the mysterious messages they keep finding and the stranger, Steve, who suddenly appears on this isolated island and you have a full blown mystery with plenty of suspense.
I have been a fan of JS Cooper for quite some time. I have read just about everything she has ever written under this pen name and her other best selling pen name Helen Cooper. I have to admit, this is the masterpiece of her life's work. This first book in this series will grip your senses and not let go. The story will continue in book 2 due to be released in March 2015. Don't know if I can wait that long! So, bring your sunscreen and your bikinis, this island is all steam, sun, and a lot of suspense.
