Blurb
Rex has firsthand knowledge of how love can rip a person to shreds. How it can swallow a person whole, leaving them gasping for air, and dying a lonely person. He watched his mother give everything she had to his father and then she died, too weak and frail to continue on. His father, the deranged man who could barely feed himself—taking care of him left a permanent crease on Rex's heart. He swears he can still hear his pleas for help in his sleep. Nothing can give him solace from the painful memories.
Except this girl.
Hayes is a constant and consistent optimist. She's witnessed her mother and father’s almost perfect marriage and taken it as an example of what she wants. But she can’t seem to find a guy who is sincere. She’s dated them all— snake-in-the-grass jerks, straight-up commitment-phobes, fakes and phonies alike. They all fit her perfect dream on the outside, but when the relationship gets to the nitty gritty, they all crumble like stale bread.
Unable to find a better man, she settles for nothing instead, wondering if a man who treats her right could even exist. With perfect parents and a team name like I Kilda Girl, that man would have a lot to live up to.
Until this boy.
When she sees a rugged, tattooed guy who shows up at all the derby bouts, she wonders if chasing the bad boy might just be right.

Review
This was a bittersweet read for me, I LOVE this series so much and knowing that it was the last book for the Black Brothers I didn't want it to end, yet I couldn't slow read it to make it last longer I didn't want to put it down.
Lila introduced us to Rex the long lost half brother of Maddox in Down 'N' Derby. Rex is a man with his own set of problems from his past. He just can't seem to find the man he really truly is until Hayes skates into his life.
Hayes has been so unsuccessful with love and relationships to the point of never making it past the first date. Hayes has her own secrets as well that she hides under her outer layer.
These two finally meet after many times of Rex watching Hayes skate at the bouts, as well as Hayes watching Rex. Finally Rex gets a push in the right direction... You have got to love the Black family always willing to involve themselves to make things right, or just looking out for each other.
Rex and Hayes finally break each others walls down but will they be able to hold on to each other after the walls have been broken?
I Just LOVE this series and I love Lila Felix. This booked wrapped up the series perfectly I cried I laughed and I cried some more then it all ended with a huge smile on my face!!!
You will fall in love with the male characters and as each one has their story told you will want to steal them all for yourself. The Female Characters are all awesome in their own ways as well and I have to say I would take any and all of them as a friend or sister.

Author
Lila Felix made the decision to write a book after being encouraged by friends. She is a stay at home mom to three wild children and three boisterous dogs and her high school sweetheart husband encourages her daily. Between writing books, she loves to read and watch sappy 80's movies. Favorite things: ice cream, anything purple, roller derby and any kind of music she can get her hands on. If you're looking for her, try looking in the swamp, she's probably duct taping something under the shade of a Cypress tree.
