Guest | Can't Help Falling in Love by Cheryl Harper

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups of hot water (For best results, try military service. Semper Fi.)
  • 2/3 cup of Memories (a mix is best, but some will make it hard to sleep.)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of Attraction to a Long-legged Blonde (Note: this is the only brand that will work.)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of Willodean Jackson’s Best Advice
  • 1/4 cup of floppy bloodhound devotion
  • 6 cups of Determination and Loyalty
  • Dash of Bookworm
  • Pinch of Hope
  • Sprinkling of Love
  • Drop of Luck
Instructions:
  1. In a very special Elvis-themed hotel, stir the Attraction to a Long-legged Blonde into the mixture of hot water and Memories. To speed up the reaction, add more hot water (heated to Elvis-week, totally-booked-hotel, in-August degrees). Watch this reaction until the Attraction threatens to bubble over.
  2. Mix in Willodean Jackson’s Best Advice and the floppy bloodhound devotion.
  3. Stir in equal parts of Determination and Loyalty, gradually adding more of each as needed. Knead the mixture until it’s completely mixed up, then put the Long-legged Blonde on a plane to Chicago to see how the hero rises to the occasion. Allow the remaining attraction to work for at least three weeks.
  4. When the hero is poised on the edge of falling, mold him into shape and apply more of Willodean Jackson’s Best Advice as needed.
  5. Sprinkle the hero with a dash of Bookworm, a pinch of Hope, and good sized drop of Luck. Cover it all with a sprinkling of Love and bring back the Long-legged Blonde.
  6. Apply heat.
YIELD: One hero. Rock’n’Rolla Hotel manager Tony Ortega has seen enough hard times to know how to hold on to the best things. This Marine has shelves filled with his favorite books and a tattoo with a list of names of people who’ve mattered to him. When he meets Randa Whitmore, the long-legged blonde in question, he knows she has a secret but that doesn’t keep him from deciding she’s a keeper.

BLURB

The staff of Cheryl Harper’s Elvis-themed Rock’n'Rolla Hotel are back with a funny, fresh romance that goes undercover—under the covers!

As a former Marine, hotel manager Tony Ortega has plenty of experience assessing threats, and the hotel’s newest guest, Randa Whitmore, is a code red. Tall, blonde, and with legs for miles, she may look like his every fantasy, but he knows she’s not really visiting for the famed Elvis Week. Though dangerously drawn to his new guest, Tony will do anything to protect his job . . . especially if it means sleeping with the enemy.

Business strategist Randa Whitmore never meant to be undercover in Memphis. In August. Sweating her expensive spa treatments away. But snagging another perfect hotel location for her father’s empire means using all the tricks in her designer arsenal. And even though the sexy, tattooed manager seems oblivious to her charms, Randa’s prepared to bring out the big guns—just so long as she can stay objective and out of Tony’s muscled arms. After all, it’s just business, right?
