Break ups are always hard. It is even more heart crushing when the break up happens in public and everyone knows what was said. This is why Charisma has stayed out of the public eye for the last three months. No only was she embarrassed to be seen in public with all the gossip going around, but she definitely was not ready to meet Blaze again.
Our book begins as Charm decides her pity party has lasted long enough. It is time to go and have fun with her friends at the local hangout. Nerves will not control her. She figures once she faces Blaze she will be able to move on. So, nothing prepared her for her reaction when Blaze showed up with two girls all over him. As the hero of the football championship win for their university, he is now king of the roost!
Although this book deals with new adults about to spread their wings in their new lives, its plotline is deep into growing up and facing your shortcomings. Blaze comes from a troubled and loveless family. He has had to depend on his ability to survive in order to get ahead. Love is something he has never felt or understands. Charm comes from an Italian family that shows their love and will meddle in every aspect of their lives. Though her family is endearing, she is marked by an incident where she saw her father kissing one of her teachers. She knew at a young age that he cheated on her mother. Trusting a man after that has always been difficult.
The journey of their relationship as Blaze and Charm learn to build something out of their attraction makes this book worth reading for everyone over 18 years of age. If you enjoy coming of age stories, this book is for you!
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the author for sharing a copy with me.
