Ever since he met Aileen a few months ago at Flynn and Nat’s wedding, he has not been able to touch another woman sexually. For a Dom like Kristian, this is an impossible situation. He is obsessed thinking about her and her children. Now that they are about to arrive on their permanent move to California, he is terrified thinking how he will control his emotions. He has never had a relationship with a woman … other than the hookups at the Quantum Sex Club. Aileen is a survivor. She has survived more than breast cancer. Abandonment, death of a parent, and surviving cancer while raising two small children are fights she has endured and survived. But this man she met at her friend’s wedding and what he does to her heart and emotions may not be so easy to survive. She knows that nothing is guaranteed in life. She could be gone tomorrow. So, she intends to live life and grasp happiness whenever possible.
This is a love affair tender and emotional you will not want to miss. Both our characters are survivors of impossible odds. The courage that is needed to fight for happiness is something they also do not lack. It is Aileen who will have to show Kristian that his past, and all the baggage that comes with it, will not deter her from loving him and accepting him just as he is.
I was so moved by this story. It is a very pertinent depiction of what the individuals suffering from cancer face. It also shows us that we can learn to accept our flaws and misgivings so we can embrace life fully.
