Disappointed, she unwrapped her arms from her body, and then pivoted on her toe in the direction of the open door. “Then it looks like we have nothing further to discuss, Lucas.”
I reached for her and tugged her to me. “I don’t want to want you,” I breathed, my mouth hovering just centimeters from hers.
Gillian tried to pull away, but not whole-heartedly. If she wanted me to let her go, I would have, but I knew she didn’t. “Then stop,” she sighed.
I took her face in my hands. “I can’t. I don’t know how to.”
“Neither do I,” she whispered.

This is more that a story about football and a young man looking for his destiny. Lucas has had a tough childhood. Football and being drafted into the NFL meant he could escape Chicago and pursue his dreams. But things never turn out like you plan them, in more ways than one. Playing for the Chicago Bears and learning to fit in with the team under a perfectionist Coach Whitney is going to be quite an adjustment. Throw in the attraction between himself and the physical therapy intern... well, that complicates things. Oh, if I may add one more thing, she is the Coach's only daughter!!!

I LOVED THIS BOOK! I just adore it when the characters grow and discover their potential. Pursuing your dreams does not mean you make a plan and just follow it. Life is not that way. You have to learn to adjust and work with the obstacles that come your way. You also have to seize your opportunities and make the best of the chances you are given to succeed in life and love.
