Sometimes, the dark side of pleasure can turn deadly.
Some secrets are better kept to yourself. At least that is what Sam thinks she ought to do with her gift to interact with the dead. If you like your romances dark, mysterious, and with a dash of thrills, look no further than this series.
Sam is a nurse, and as such, she can tell when the time has come for one of the ICU patients to move on to the great beyond. At least she is able to give hope to those who need it and a send off to those who are peacefully guided on. The problem is she does not pay enough attention to the living. This is how she misses the signs one gorgeous man gives her of his interest in her. The lengths Doug Morgan goes through to meet her again and entice her to partner up with him will keep titillated and at the edge of your seats.
The Cord Noire members are still all around. So far, they have not involved themselves much. Somehow I feel they will be more prominent in future books. We are all curious to find out to what extremes they will go to place that black rope around their submissives' neck and in playing their games.
Nathan is still "missing". We know where to find his remains as we found out in the first book in this series... but who put him there??? That man is just too evil to be allowed his haunting of the inhabitants of his apartment building. I will cheer when he moves on forever to much warmer climates and fiery pits.
I love the writing style and the plotline. Nothing better than a HOT read with lots of dark mystery!
