Life does not always work the way we planned it. As a matter of fact, it seldom does. The one thing I think most of us hope for is to live a clean life, make our parents proud, and be reaffirmed we did our best.
That is not the case with our main character Kace. He planned to be the boxer he could be - his trainer betrayed him by giving him supplements laced with steroids. Forget a career in boxing. He tried to make his parents proud of him - forget that after the scandal broke about the steroids. He was blamed as a user and he lost his will to redeem himself. As to an affirmation he did his best, well, he killed a man when he lost his temper one drunken night. Now Kace is really "the walking dead". He says to Jett he died the night he killed that man, and now his focus is on making sure he pays for the death he caused.
His love affair with Lyla should be what brings him out of his funk. He feels so guilty, though, he is unable to even allow himself to be happy in love with her. Lyla is like the other half of his soul. They both came from the wrong side of the railroad tracks and worked to get out of the gutter. They are raw and exposed, yet still with the spirit to continue looking for a way to move ahead.
Repentance is a story that reminds us sometimes we don't have all the facts because we are blinded by our own lack of self-esteem. We are all sinners and sometimes life just pounds us with might be insurmountable obstacles. It is up to us to find solutions and attempt to improve our lives rather than wallow in self-pity. This is a story of bringing hope back into our lives and doing the best we can with our circumstances.

Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if “It’s Raining Men” starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped. Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking. Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!
