Award-Winning Author

After eleven years of marriage, Maya is swept away on a sensual, daring and hilarious journey following a random meeting with a stranger. Through alleys fragrant with the pungent smell of fried rice, amid child beggars and vendors of psychedelic fabrics, she makes surprising discoveries about the stranger, and about herself. How far will she be willing to go?

Uproariously funny

"This book will drive you to pursue your passions and will make you laugh out loud. A tremendous bestseller!"

 Captivating and sensual

A riveting and sensual story of the search for love, the longing for happiness and the fear of missing out on life.

I follow the beat of a different drummer. I know this book is supposed to be funny, and although there are amusing moments, I found this book rather sobering. Reading this book was like looking at a point in time in a young woman's life where everything converges and evaluations have to be made. Those of you in your forties and on will know what I mean. We have all been through it, one way or another. You have lived life for a number of years and the experiences and goals of your life bring you to a moment in your life where you must re-evaluate where you have been, where you are now and what you will do with the rest of your life.

Although it could be called a mid-life crisis, this also happens after the loss of someone important in your life. Having lost her mother to cancer, Maya feels herself "stuck" and at a stand still. She looks at her husband Uri and after eleven years, the attraction is no longer there. You know, that sexual heat and passion that drives your body crazy where you can hardly keep your hands to yourself. In her case, life is very organized. Sex is part of a predetermined schedule, the same position is used, with the same results week after week. Without spontaneity and the element of surprise, that glorious union between two lovers is lack luster and boring.

This well-written novel takes us through the journey Maya goes through as she examines both her expectations and priorities. An extra marital affair serves as the catalyst to re-ignite her long forgotten desires, while she opens her eyes to reality and all it entails.
