Domestic abuse is one the main themes in this book. Our main character Becca is involved with a verbally abusive boyfriend who becomes physically abusive. Thanks to her best friends, she finds the courage to break up with Ron before the abuse becomes extreme. She is scared, after all he has already punched her and given her a black eye.

Besides her blossoming friendship with her next door neighbor, Colin, she finds out that she is a very attractive girl which helps boost her self esteem. One question comes to mind... how well do we know someone we meet at a bar and begin dating? Her ex is full of surprises and not in a good way. It makes you wonder if you should run a full investigation before dating anyone out ther!

The author's writing style is easy reading. She has a knack for describing her characters' emotions painfully real. I was not able to put this book down until finished. Very fast paced plot line.
