Echo Queen
(Echo Trilogy Book #2)
by Lindsey Farleigh
For most people, time is a river, flowing in only one direction...but Alexandra Larson isn’t most people.
PRESENT DAY...When Lex notices an inky presence darkening Marcus’s eyes, she discovers he’s no longer what he seemed. Almost too late, she realizes that the man she has entrusted with both her heart and her life is now her greatest threat. Seeking safety, Lex is forced to draw on her god-like powers and flee…to the ancient past.
OLD KINGDOM EGYPT...Hiding in plain sight, Lex takes on the identity of the goddess Hathor as she struggles to blend in thousands of years before her own time. But the safety she sought proves elusive. If the body-snatching spirit of a dead god doesn’t kill her, her rapidly worsening bonding withdrawals will. Can she come to an arrangement with Heru, Marcus’s ancient counterpart, in time to save her life and the future? Or will the secrets she’s hiding push him away for good?

"For most people, time is a river, flowing in only one direction...but Alexandra Larson isn’t most people."
Threatened by an evil spirit who loves to possess people in order to do his will, Lex is taken back several thousands of years to the Old Kingdom. The mystery and beauty of Egypt's Old Kingdom comes alive in vibrant detail as the Echo Trilogy continues. For Lex being able to experience the Old Kingdom for herself is a gift any archeologist would swoon over. There is no time for sight seeing. She is there for one purpose only - to learn from the great god Nuin how to handle the power he has transferred to her and use this power to prevent the chaos that is coming to current time.
I am a sucker for anything dealing with Egypt. If on top of that I am given a complex, mystery/thriller, I am in heaven. In addition, if a love story and passionate romance is at the heart of the story... well, I am drooling. Marcus (Heru) is like rolling together Christian Grey and Gideon Cross into one and making him a god for real. I cannot get enough of the love affair between Marcus and Lex!
Lindsey Farleigh amazes me with the level of detail and the complexity of her story. Once again, she has immersed me in story where I feel, smell and see the Old Kingdom in Egypt as if I were a time traveler myself. This absolutely wonderful story is meant for adults only.
