Her father abandoned her at age nine. Her mother blamed her for her father's leaving. Now, the man she has been engaged to has the audacity of cheating on her just months before their wedding. Her self-esteem is at its lowest.
But Catherine is a survivor and she is trying to move on. As she literally falls in Jackson's lap, a new relationship takes hold of her heart and relentlessly sweeps her. Relationships are a struggle. Love is a verb and requires action and tender handling. Jackson and Catherine both have to fight for their feelings.
Secrets are the death knell. Jackson has kept himself so tightly closed up, it is time for him to open up and let Catherine look into his heart.
