Review of New Release | Complicated Girl by Mimi Strong

Title: Complicated Girl (Baker Street Romance #2)
Author: Mimi Strong
Genre: Erotic Comedy/Romance
Length: 161 pages
Release Date: May 6, 2014

Opposites attract when a rough-and-tumble florist meets a sophisticated, well-groomed dentist at her self-help group.

Drew Morgan looks like he stepped out of a men's fashion magazine. He smells even better. He comes on strong the first time he meets Megan (a.k.a. Meenie), getting her away from the group so he can lay on his charm.

Meenie doesn't have much practice with flirting, so she does the next most logical thing to get Drew over to her house. She gets a pair of pliers, yanks off her dental cap, and calls Drew on his after-hours emergency number.

When Drew shows up with his stylish leather doctor's bag, and snaps on his latex gloves, the dental procedure goes horribly wrong and the romance goes surprisingly right.

Once Meenie's tooth is repaired, the only thing left to fix is the enormous problem she won't admit she has. Now that she's in danger of losing her perfect guy, the stakes have never been higher for Meenie to finally stop being so complicated.

I love quirky characters. They are unique, fresh, and full of individuality. In this case, hold on to your ears! Meenie is extremely honest to the point of being rude, crude, and totally offensive. And yet... there is a sweetness about her and an innocence that makes her endearing.

Meenie, nickname given to her but her name is Megan, has lived the shadow of her perfect sister Teenie (Tina). Her self esteem could not be lower! She is 27 years old and has finally realized how lonely she is. If she could possibly reign in her mouth or perhaps filter some of what comes out of it, she thinks perhaps she might make friends.

By accident, Drew comes into Meenie's life and what a breath of fresh air he is. Immediately, he brings change and turmoil to her life. I am still laughing and will not look at plyers the same way in the future. OUCH!

This is a funny, quirky story of loneliness, damaged egos and romantic honesty that is raw at times. Thank you heaven for Drew!

What a joy to read this from Mimi Strong! I laughed, cried, and cheered... could not put it down.

I love Tina with all her hysteria about the love she lost when Jonathan died. I love that she still treasures the blue rose he gave her for a prom night corsage. No matter what, that first love is always treasured. Too bad he was not around for very long to enjoy their relationship.

Life moves on but Tina is still stuck back to the point of Jonathan's death. She needs something like an earthquake to nudge her back to the present times. She still lives at home, still holds the same job she had when she graduated high school, and she is not dating or seeing anyone of the opposite sex. She is stuck in a comfort zone that does not allow her to grow.

Shut the door and call me sassy! Luca comes into her life and the earthquake happens. At 6'3" tall, gorgeous hunk of man, and smelling like heaven, he is just what the doctor ordered. Under that rough exterior, you know he is a loving, sensitive and passionate man. I love their banter and how creative he is planning their dates. I melted when they went on the second date... you have to discover it for yourselves.

I am gushing here with praise for Mimi's writing. I love her quirky prose, her humor and most of all, the heart she instills on everything she writes. This was such a loving, tender and PASSIONATE story! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
