BLURB

He spurned Gabby Ward once, crushing her young heart, and then left to travel the world for fame and glory. Now Hunter Markham has come back home to the sand and salty breeze of the North Carolina Outer Banks so he can open up Last Call, a beach bar nestled among the dunes of the Atlantic.

Gabby Ward is not happy that Hunter has returned. Bitter over his rebuff years before, she’s content to stay far away from him and his dangerously charming ways.

Gabby’s well-schemed plans to ignore Hunter go up in flames when he presents an offer to her that she simply can’t refuse, throwing them together in a common quest to each reach their goals. Working together day in and day out proves to be problematic for Gabby, who soon realizes that the feelings she had for him are still very much alive. Hunter struggles to reach through to Gabby’s cold heart, all while starting a new career away from his life as a top ranked, professional surfer.

What starts out as a mutual business arrangement soon turns into a passion that neither of them can continue to deny.

Hard choices lay ahead for both of them when Hunter is offered a once in a lifetime opportunity to return to the pro surfing tour.Choices that could destroy what they have built or take them further than they ever had dared to hope.

REVIEW

Gabby has loved him practically all of her life.  After he broke Hunter broke her heart on high school graduation day, she figured the best way to keep him away from her was to show him her bitchy side.

Hunter never expected he would be so drawn to her.  Let's face it, she was like his little sister.  Dang! She was his sister's best friend and they were like family.  Let's face it, his feelings for Gabby are not what a brother would feel for his sister!

Our story blossoms in this hot turmoil of emotions between Hunter and Gabby.  She is struggling to show her independence fighting the double standard that women cannot succeed in the man's world of construction.  Being thrown together with Hunter as she remodels his newly acquired bar The Last Call is enough to drive the girl crazy.

Hunter is trying to do the right thing.  He retired as the world's second best surfer on the tour in order to help his twin brother Brody.  After a 7 year prison sentence for murder, Brody has a long road ahead of him to acclimate himself back to his previous life and needs the love and support of his family.

Loved this story.  The banter between Hunter and Gabby is the typical love/hate banter you would expect of junior high level romance.  It takes Brody to call out what is happening to make Hunter face his interaction with Gabby is nothing more than frustration at a blossoming romance that is being denied.  This makes for comedic situations and hot romantic scenes.  Their love affair is definitely not ordinary and the love that evolves is a once in a lifetime gift.  I cannot wait to read the next book in this series when Brody will be the focus of attention.
