TEASER

After lunch, Micah entered the room followed by Brydon. Micah had provided the boy with some of his own clothes. The boy accepted them only after Micah had mentioned that a guide to Lady Tiponya had to keep up a certain appearance. Brydon happily accepted them after that.

"Your guide is here and ready, Your Ladyship," Micah announced.

Brydon fidgeted nervously in the baggy clothes. As small as Micah was, Brydon was smaller. Krissa wondered how old the boy could be.

"How old are you, guide?" Alcina asked. Apparently, she wanted to know also.

"I'm a whole six years old and then some, Your Ladyship," Brydon answered proudly.

"Well, then I see you must be quite the expert on this lovely city," she said with a softer voice.

"I am, Your Ladyship," he told her. "I know all the best shops the ladies like to go to. If you tell me what you want, I'll get you there," he boasted. " ..Uh, Your Ladyship," he added again just to be sure he had said it properly.

"Wonderful," Alcina told him. "Shall we be off then?"

Khevin and Nester walked out first with Brydon following closely behind. They stopped at the top of the stairs since no one else had come out of the room yet. Alcina had gone to the door, but stopped. It didn't take long for Gilroy to respond. He moved his way around the others and offered an arm for Alcina to take. She then allowed him to lead her from the room. Sealey followed them closely with Micah, Daisy Mae at their heels. Krissa and Ruuna pulled up the hoods to their cloaks and Lonnie followed silently towering behind them.

"What is it you're looking for, Your Ladyship?" Brydon asked when they reached the street.

"First I should like to get an overview of what there is available. I have never been to Amara before, and should like to take advantage of it since my Lord Husband has sent me on this journey. Is there anything that he had mentioned to either of you gentlemen?" she looked first to Sealey, who stood to her left, then to Gilroy who's arm she had.

AUTHOR BIO
I grew up in Vermont mostly and now live in Virginia with my family (those still at home). My husband and I have a blended family of seven kids. My childhood was spent moving around a lot. (non-military) About five years ago, we started home-schooling our youngest children. Now there are only two remaining in home-school. I have tried to nurture the love of books in our children and now our grandchildren -- always nurturing their imaginations. Recently, I have become active in our community with literacy, starting a local (and online) creative writing club and volunteer tutoring at the Adult Learning Center.

I struggle with Fibromyalgia and PTSD. So, have to be careful not to overdo things... I don't always listen to my own advice. I have a dry, sarcastic and corny sense of humor and always try to look at things optimistically. (again not always successful) However, I feel that if I don't give up -- for long -- then things will work out for the best eventually.
