Interview with Addison Connelly
(Main Character in Finding Hope)
(Main Character in Finding Hope)
Addison Connelly |
What is your name?
My name is Addison Connelly.
Is there a nickname you’re known by? Do you prefer it?
A lot of people call me Addi. I don’t mind the nickname, but I do like that Adrian always calls me Addison.
What is your height, weight and build?
I’m about 5’10’ and athletic. I have to be to work on a ranch.
What is your hair color and style, eye color, and skin tone?
I have fair skin, light blonde hair, and blue eyes.
What is your preferred style of clothing to wear?
Jeans and a t-shirt! With my cowboy boots of course.
Have you ever been abused? If so, how? How do you feel about it now?
I was in a verbally abusive relationship for three years. I withdrew from the dating scene after saving up enough courage to break off the relationship. I struggle with self-esteem because of it, but I’m trying to move past it. Missy is making sure of it.
Whom would you contact first to share good news?
My grandfather and then my best friend Missy. My grandfather is the only family I have left alive.
What is your relationship status at the start of the story?
I’m single.
Describe your past relationships. How many? Who? Why did they end?
I haven’t had many. I dated a little in high school, but never really had a steady boyfriend. I met my now-ex while I was in college. We dated for three years before I broke it off. He was verbally abusive. It was the hardest thing I ever did. I haven’t been on a date since.
How do you feel about being the center of attention?
I don’t want to be the center of attention. That’s not something I crave.
What crisis are you facing at the start of the story?
The idea of dating again.
What makes this crisis such a challenge for you in particular?
I’m scared to put myself out there again. Sometimes I think it’s just easier to be alone than risk being hurt again.
How would you define ‘power’?
The ability to elicit fear.
Do you consider yourself a moral / ethical person?
Yes.
What makes your blood boil?
Men who abuse the power they have over women.

Synopsis
Warning: The plot thickens with a passel of pissed off Olympians, but Ares and Aphrodite are in for a double dose of trouble! More Olympians join the mix in Finding Hope: Pool of Souls Book 2. A jewel addict, a kick-ass possibly-virgin huntress, and an insatiable ancient oracle are just a few. But don’t worry; Ares and Aphrodite are still front and center.
Addison Connelly has given up on men. She is disappointed yet again when her best friend tries to play matchmaker, and the match falls flat…or does it? Her friend knows all Addison needs is a chance, a little hope, and maybe a dropkick in the right direction. With an extra push from Aphrodite, will this lonely soul learn to trust again? Or will she run from the only man who could make her happy?
Adrian Colter, Nashville Police Detective and certifiable bachelor, puts his foot in his mouth in a big way when his roommate’s fiancĂ© tries to match him up with her best friend. After making a horrible first impression, can he earn the trust of a woman who won’t speak a civil word to him?
Adrian isn’t the only one trying to earn the trust of a beautiful woman. While Ares fights to rebuild the trust he lost thousands of years ago with the Goddess of Love, his parents do what they do best —show off their greed and selfishness. Will he find the hope and forgiveness he so desperate seeks or will his parents destroy his chance at happiness?
Excerpt
“Ares,” she whispered. Her body thrummed with need. A moan escaped her lips. He parted her legs and pushed. She was open, vulnerable, and ready for anything he would give. White tendrils of her essence swirled around the bed, connecting with his as he climbed up over her.
She caught his gaze, and even more heat flamed in her belly. His eyes were dark except for the fiery red sparks of his arousal shining through them. He settled his mouth on her sex, and her breath released in a long hiss. One lick across her clit and she arched her hips toward him, clenching handfuls of his hair. Tension held her body in place while he worked her like the strings on a violin. Their essence continued to dance, swirling around them, and sending pleasurable jolts of energy surging through her body every time it touched her skin.
“Please, Ares. I need you inside me.”
“Mmmmm. I love to hear you beg.”
Aphrodite smiled and gasped when he pinched a nipple. The pain was short-lived, but it made her so hot! She literally wanted to taste every inch of him.
“You know you’re the only one that I –”
“I know.”
The weight of his body lifted, and Aphrodite shuddered with anticipation. His velvet head brushed against her wet pussy.
She needed him to be inside already! Why was he teasing her so much?
Review
Krystal Shannan has done it again! Wrap me up in a blanket and just snuggle with this awesome book! I could not get enough. Leaving off where Open House ended Aphrodite and Ares are still at it. Both with major trust issues, one playing match maker & the other destruction.
Addison and Adrian were amazing in this book. As we get to know them, and understand their reasons for being alone, they are thrust upon each other by their friends. It's amazing how much a few simple actions can cause such a stir. Adrian is not known for his mouth, much less can see himself trusting another woman without getting hurt again. Addison is the same though she just needs a push in the right direction to get her moving towards what could possibly be her one and only soul mate.
I loved how the author gives us a little bit of both worlds, with Addison and Adrian then Aphrodite and Ares. I couldn't get enough of the romantic 18+ scenes. Moments when a cool shower would have been nice. A very awesome second to an amazing first book in the Pool of Souls Series.
