Julieanne's YA series, The Shadows Trilogy, is published by Vamptasy Publishing and thus far contains In the Shadows. It follows the war between vampires and shadow creatures. Giselle Bergman, an 18-year old human girl, falls victim to a scheme by one of her closest childhood friends, and embarks on a journey that sees her become the center of a battle between good and evil.

You are hosting a Dinner Party...

When is your Dinner Party? What will you do to prepare?

My dinner party is at Midnight, and to prepare, I will start off by having a nice long hot soak in the tub, surrounded by candles and music playing in the background. Music of choice: Adrian von Ziegler - Darkness, Beloved.

What is the theme? Describe your choice in decorations?

Well, seeing as I love all things GOTHIC, I dare say our theme for tonight shall be all out there Gothic. Black and Purple voiles will adorn the windows and doorways, we shall have candles lit everywhere. I believe in a soothing and calming environment, and nothing says that more than an open fire and candles.

How will you ask your guests to dress?

Dark Victorian dressage! Tight corsets, high collars, lace, ruffles and decorative sleeves are all essential. Anything black, red or purples, with elaborate broaches, and gloves would add to the flair of my intended evening. If ladies would prefer a more masculine look, they could wear black, black-striped or pinstripe dress trousers. I want my guests to go all out elaborate and express their personalities with their choice of attire.

What will you have on the menu? And for dessert? Will you prepare it or cater it?

I admit, I love to cook, but for tonight’s festivities, I will have hired someone to cater for us. Although, I will have had complete control over the sumptuous menu.

The Menu

First Course:
Vermicelli soup

Second Course:
Baked salmon, trout, lobster & Oysters

Entrée:
Braised lamb, served with broccoli, cauliflower, potatoes, and carrots. With thick gravy and Yorkshire puddings, and roast potatoes.

Final Course:
Medley of cakes: éclairs, Neapolitan cakes, meringue, chocolate soufflé, and all served with a sweet wine.

Drinks:
Wine will be served at the end of each course.
Madeira and sherry
A glass of hock after white fish or claret and port after salmon
Following entrees chilled champagne

Where will your dinner party be located (if not within your own home)?

Glamis Castle, Scotland. It is considered the most haunted castle in Scotland – extremely apt for our little get together.

Will there be activities for your guests? What will you do to entertain your guest?

Of course!

We will have entertainment provided for us from Cirque du Soleil. The high-flying acrobatics, impressive physical feats, beautiful dance renditions and all the magic of Quidam will consume my guests.

A Grand Finale/Event of the night... How will you 'Wow' your guests?

Just before day break, we will all leave the warmth of the Castle and venture outside, into the cool air of the Scottish Highlands. It was said that Lady Glamis was burned at the stake in Edinburgh, and her spirit is believed to be the White Lady who haunts the castle and its grounds, especially in the clock tower. We will each take a candle, light it and raise a glass to the clock tower and drink to her wandering soul. Then dance around the grassed lawns until daybreak falls upon us, enriching our souls with another day.

Fiery Librian Julieanne Lynch is an author of urban fantasy books for both adults and teens. Julieanne lives in Northern Ireland, where she works on her Shadows Trilogy and other series full-time. Before becoming a writer, she considered a few different career paths, a rock star being one of them. She studied English Literature and Creative Writing at The Open University, and considered journalism as a career path. However, she decided writing was the way for her and believes all of her education and reading prepared her for it.

An avid reader, Julieanne has always had an encompassing fascination with folklore. When not writing, she enjoys crime series such as Criminal Minds, CSI, NCIS and Cold Case, and loves anything with Vampires, listening to metal, meeting new people, drinking lots of green tea, and sharing her dreams with her children.
