Excerpt:

When I couldn't cry anymore, I thought back on everything. He was right; things haven't been the same between us. I was lying to him. I even came close to kissing... I didn't want to think about that. I stared at the ceiling. This is a good thing. Now he is safe. Now, the Bremoir could not associate him with me. Now, I can leave Earth and not have to worry about leaving him behind. This is all good. I love him enough to do this. I just wished my heart could understand that.

Review:

Gemini of Emreiana is Kristen DaRay’s debut novel. It is a great YA/Fantasy book with a story line that is very interesting and different. It had my attention from the very beginning.

Carson is an eighteen year old girl living in Alice, a small town, with her Aunt Trish. She is a high school senior and valedictorian of her class. For a week, she has been having strange dreams of a beautiful oasis with exotic plants and waterfalls. In her dream, she hears a male voice. When she turns around there is a handsome young man. He calls her lanai but she doesn’t understand why he called her that so he tells her the meaning of the word. He tells her that she is from Emreiana and explains to her about her family. She doesn’t know what to think of it all.

Not long after, Carson finds out the truth about who her parents are, who she is, and where they are from. Aunt Trish explains everything to her and the reason why they had to leave Emreiana. Everything that she has found out has turned her life upside down and she is having a hard time understanding and believing all of it. In time, will she be able to accept everything and what is going on? Will she be able to forgive her aunt for keeping the truth from her?

This is the beginning of Carson's journey. Whether she wants to believe and accept the truth, Carson knows what she has to do in order to keep her friends and all of the citizens of Alice safe from whatever is coming after her. Are they prepared for the disaster that is coming there way? Will they be able to survive and get out in time?

As I was reading, I could feel the rollercoaster emotions that Carson was having through out the story.

Kristen DaRay has done a great job writing her first book. I am looking forward to reading more of her future books.

Author Bio:

Kristen was born in Alabama in 1991 and still resides there today. She has been writing since the 6th grade. However, she did not begin to write fiction until she was 15. In 2009, Kristen had an idea that would spark the concept for Gemini of Emréiana that she would later write in 2011. During that time, she met her husband. They married in August of 2012. When Kristen is not writing, she spends time watching Korean Drama's or creating SIM's 3 stories. Kristen continues to write the next novels to the Gemini Trilogy. She also plans to release a new series later on in the year.
