Inspiration Leads to Motivation
There's
no doubt about it- sometimes I have a hard time staying motivated. It
doesn't matter what we are talking about- it could be cleaning,
organizing, or even a day of homeschooling- sometimes I just find it
hard to DO what I need to do without a proper push. When taking my
writing into account, I am especially needy when it comes to motivation.
I need to know when I am done that I have produced the best story (or
outline of one) I possibly could. I have some freak-like need to control
every single aspect of my writing...even the things that motivate said
stories.Without a doubt my main motivation is my family. I have the most wonderful and driven husband in the entire world and I want to make him proud. As unfair as it is to the rest of the world, I have FIVE amazing children. My kids are my reason for breathing and I hope they see their Mom doing what she loves, what makes her happy, and strive for the same in their own lives.
Now...what about that pesky little problem of inspiration? I'd love to share a few ways I keep myself inspired to write (hopefully) great stories. Here are a few things I use for daily inspiration: First, I use music. Original, I know. Music for me is one of the best ways to set the "mood" for any particular scene I am planning on writing...I listen to it and then I turn it off to write...I have to have quiet to do any actual writing. I'm weird that way. Secondly, I use art and pictures...in short- Pinterest. I've found that this happens to be one of the most important steps in my writing process. I scour the internet for pictures that elicit a response from me...love, joy, disgust, pain, deep thought, turmoil, enlightenment, or whatever and I pin those picture to my virtual pin boards to scroll through at different times during my writing process. I also find myself changing the background to my laptop to different images dozens of times while I write...I always have some kind of visual stimuli in front of me...even if it is pictures from magazines hanging from the cork board on my wall. Finally, I use nature for inspiration. If I find I am having a hard time staying motivated, I take a walk to clear my senses. I leave the house and my writing dungeon behind and head outside for sunlight and fresh air. (My "vampiric" a.k.a. night owl tendencies scream in protest every time.)
So, whether it is through music, art, photography, or nature itself, motivation is truly easier when you are surrounding yourself by things that inspire you on a daily basis. More importantly, no matter what inspires or motivates you- it will all mean nothing if you don't use it to do whatever it is you love to do or aspire to become.

YA Author & Homeschooling Mom of 5
I can relate to needing a little motivation. As a mother of 6 wonderful sons and a wife to a loving husband, they are my inspiration to work hard. Authors who write extraordinary books like yours also inspire me to seek out new adventures in life, such as contributing to this awesome blog.
Thank you so much for taking time from your very busy schedule to talk with us. I am beyond excited for the release of Relativity (book 2) in February. I hope you will join us again to share insight into your world that includes Sage Hannigan, Dr. Aldwin Blake and the handsome Soren Blackwell. ~ Tina Donnelly
Blurb
Eighteen-year-old
Sage Hannigan wants to get back to her own time, preferably one that
hasn’t been destroyed by an underworld plot brewing in Edwardian-era
South Carolina. How hard can it be?
All she has to do to accomplish this; learn to use newly acquired warping skills to bend time to her will, take out a few rogue vampires, join an ancient secret society, figure out who is putting the time stream in jeopardy, and find and maim whoever invented the corset.
Sage never asked to be chosen by the Druid Priestess, Amerach, to become a Warper. She also never asked to have the future hanging on her shoulders or to warp a hundred years into the past. She certainly never asked to meet Dr. Aldwin Blake, who would make her question her desire to get back to her own time. But if she fails her mission, people will die, history will change, and the present she wishes to return to will be no more.
Review
Sage Hannigan is a Warper, which means she travels through time. She has the ability to protect the world from the preternatural community, but is she up for the task? Will she make it back to her own time?
Sage wakes to find she has been transported to 1904. She finds out there are creatures in the world that she thought only existed in horror movies. Vampires, Shifters and Merfolk are part of the preternatural community that may change history. It is her task to prevent this. She joins forces with an ancient secret society to learn how to use her powers and meets the handsome (dreamy) Dr.Aldwin Blake. He is in charge of teaching her fighting skills. She must also learn proper etiquette and dress in the appropriate attire, including the dreadful corset.
I loved this book from start to finish. I can't even begin to express how well written and developed the characters are. I fell head over heals for Dr. Aldwin Blake. My favorite quote from the book is from Aldwin. "I'd miss you a hell of a lot if you were to warp back to your own time. That's selfishness and I don't regret or apologize for it." What a man!!
I highly recommend this wonderful book. If I could give it 10 stars, I'd give it 11. One of the best books of 2012 by far!!

Author Bio
She has been married to her soul mate, Omar, since January 2000. She enjoys reading, writing, soap making, all things aromatherapy, and Twizzlers- lots of Twizzlers. She dreams of one day owning a small homestead, raising some chickens along with her children, growing a large garden, and eventually taking a dream vacation to Greece. It isn't too far fetched to think you could happen upon her and her husband having a conversation about religion, political conspiracies, a zombie apocalypse, or gangster movies.
