Famous last words it seems, because Goldie will forever find a way to get deep into some mess. It seems trouble finds her all the time. In this case though, it is Goldie herself who just walked right into it.
Her desire to help Jett acquire Lot 17 for the community center is her driving desire. Unfortunately, as with everything Goldie, she has not thought too much about the ramifications. Leaving Jett and quitting her Jett Girl status (and giving back her collar to Jett) is a move she will always regret. In her euphoria to take over the challenge of helping Jett bring down Rex and Leo, she just absolutely did not think the danger she was walking into. Rex and Leo are the lowest of the scum and they will stop at nothing to hurt and humiliate Jett. Goldie's well-being is of no concern to them in their search for revenge.
Meghan Quinn's unique writing style will have you laughing and crying almost at once. Her dialogues are full of the carefree innocence the belongs to only Goldie. She is that girl with a heart of gold, a creative brain, but with a naivete that dooms her into impossible situations. Somehow her innocent approach to solutions does not mean she is not street savvy. It just means she is guileless therefore instinctually, she always approaches problems without the shrewdness others do.
Jett is adorable in his plight to keep and protect Goldie. As a dominant, it is very difficult for him to open up and share his emotions. He makes every effort to please Goldie, but he must feel in control at all times. This is a point of contention between them and their banter is what makes this book so enjoyable.
This is the conclusion of Goldie and Jett's story. We are promised more stories in the future about the other friends we have made with the occupants of the Lafayette Club. I am holding my breath for the stories of Kace, Zane and Diego most of all. Those men are HOT!
