The Phoenix Campaign is an erotic romance set in the world of presidential election politics. Recommended for mature readers due to sharp dialogue, wickedly hot sex, and a few delicious taboos. This full-length novel is second in a series but can be read as a standalone.
Now that Grace is the VP Nominee, life is about to on fast forward and crazy. She is still fighting for her right to decide her path and not be controlled either by the ambition of others or the desire for power.
Although this is very altruistic of her, the reality of politics cannot be forgotten. She is pushed and pulled to give the usual non committal answers or non answers. These can be construed as half lies and once you start there is no end in sight.
Jared and Grace are the most frustrating couple I have read in a while. Just like their relationship, there is no solid ground yet. They are still going through that growing in love phase where they almost trust each other but they are still skeptical. It must be the nature of their work seeping in to their private life. Politics requires a degree of skepticism... you are never sure just what a politician will do next to win a few votes or donations. In a business where money equals power and ambition runs wild, how can these two finally trust in each other?
Gripping, fast paced, full of evil or dubious characters, I find this series fascinating. This installment was one that tugged at my heart deeply. I cannot wait to read the next installment in the series!
